I used an online travel website to search for a hotel room in downtown Chicago. I have just started a dispute, and do not mind spending an hour sharing my awful experience with this property.… I was not informed by the third party website, not by the staff over the phone, and when I confronted the staff over the phone, she hung up, and never picked up the phone again after repetitive tries. After stay was over, and I thought the nightmare was gone, I saw I was charged almost 3 times the accommodation fee, so I called the guest service, and that same staff member was twice as rude saying that there is a daily reservation fee is required for any stay. What happened is this female staff member obligated me to pay by phone, and spell my credit card information twice even though I told her I was in a public place and would prefer in-person treatment. I already had paid for the full stay through a third-party website that specified all fees, and excplicitly said there was an accommodation fee that I was supposed to "pay at the property". As check-in time approaches, a lady that named herself Rose called us to get credit card information for the check-in. Housekeeping ladies were helpful and polite, and were the only reason we were still encouraged to stay over. Eventually we were able to reach a staff member that told us we could leave our items on a specific floor with housekeeping staff. Not in person, not by the two phones that they made available. Checking in hours are far from flexible, with Check-in only starting from 4pm, but we were aware of that, the problem is nobody was available to let us leave the luggage in some storage room. In from of the desk, near the empty seat, there are two OUT-OF-SERVICE TABLETS that I believe were supposed to help guests checking in digitally. And the other employee was not able to help, which I can't fault him for. There was never an employee there during my entire day which encompassed weekend and a weekday. First of all, the front desk is shared by an employee that serves the residents at the building, and an empty seat that was supposed to have an employee for the "Hotel" guests. I had a terrible experience at the Chicago Hotel Collection Millennium Park on this former weekend.
